Hearts rejoice! Dawn Richard giving her throwaways to her fans for some listens. Unreleased material from the “Goldenheart” recording sessions must all be flawless, this one definitely is a smash. I wonder why it didn’t make the final cut. On the flirty-bossy “Bum Bum”, Richard teases using her sex appeal and lures.

The upbeat record, produced and co-written with producer, Andrew “Druski” Scott, has plenty of Dawn’s Hatian and New Orleans musical influence running through it. Sampling a New Orleans Mardi Gras favorite “Iko Iko” by The Dixie Cups, with lyric refrences from Sister Nancy’s reggae hit “Bam Bam”.

Dawn in currently running a muck on her “Goldenheart” tour, which her next stop will be at Yoshi’s in San Francisco, California on March 20th, then the Roxy in Los Angeles on March 26th. All while working hard on her follow up to “Goldenheart”, “Blackheart”. Did we mention that she’s doing this all independently? Yeah, hard working woman.
